My central air conditioner lasted far longer than I ever expected.
- The average cooling component lasts anywhere from fifteen to twenty years, but our system was already installed when my associate and I moved into the home over fifteen years ago.
It was not new at the time. Although I made sure to replace air filters properly & schedule professional service every Spring, I assumed the system would need to be replaced after a few years. The cooling component operated quite reliably every summer. Now & then, I’d need to call an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional to handle a small repair. Eventually, I started looking into a new air conditioner simply to take advantage of a higher SEER rating. Today’s cooling innovations offer up to 26 SEER. The updated technology allows the system to automatically vary speed according to the needs of the home. It can adjust in tiny one percent increments anywhere between 40 & 100 percent capacity. By running at lower speeds, the air conditioner uses less energy yet provides more consistent temperature & better humidity control. These progressive systems are much quieter, more effectively filter out contaminants & minimize impact on the environment. They use a refrigerant that doesn’t deplete the ozone. Although replacing my air conditioner was a significant investment, it was a worthwhile project. The energy savings on monthly electric bills helps to recover the cost. My family enjoys a more hygienic & comfortable home. On especially moderate & muggy days & evenings, the residing space is perfectly cool. My associate and I sleep better at evening & have more energy during the afternoon. If there are any problems, the new system is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
