Duct cleaning improves indoor air quality and comfort

I’ve noticed an improvement in the cleanliness, comfort and smell of my home

I’ve recently realized the importance of professional ductwork cleaning. My family has lived in our house for nearly fifteen years. During that time, we’ve done a lot of remodeling. We’ve torn down walls and ceilings, replaced windows, ripped up rugs and refinished the hardwood floors. All of these projects created a great deal of dust and debris. Plus, my family consists of five people and we have a dog. We generate a significant amount of dust, dander and other particles. This debris gets pulled into the duct system right along with the air and gradually builds up. The accumulation restricts airflow, forcing the furnace and air conditioner to struggle. The system needs to run longer, uses more energy and experiences greater wear and tear. Along with higher energy bills, there is an increased risk of equipment malfunction. The lifespan of the heating/cooling equipment is shortened. There is also the concern that the contaminants concealed inside the ductwork will become airborne and get spread throughout the house. When I had my ductwork cleaned, the technician found decomposing rodents, bugs and mold growth. The air my family breathes could have easily been polluted with harmful toxins. It is such a relief to know the ductwork is clean. I can be sure that the maximum amount of air is reaching the rooms of the house. I’ve noticed an improvement in the cleanliness, comfort and smell of my home. The furnace and air conditioner cost far less to operate and don’t run as often. I plan to have the ductwork tested and inspected every year.
