Mom killed the desert plants I gave her

My mom is a really interesting human being, however he is highly functional in some ways, & a complete space case in a lot of other ways! For instance, he is harshly skilled at creating a narrow budget & living comfortably.

However, he freaks out at basic tasks like going to a new site or leaving the comfort of his home.

She is amazingly skilled with taking care of critters & giving them the exact care that they need it.., and but he cannot do the same thing for plants. For as long as I have been alive, my mom has been killing any plant that has unlucky enough to come inside his house. I’ve constantly encouraged his to try again, because they improve your indoor air quality & surroundings so greatly, then recently, I thought that I had finally found a solution to this complication when I raised some attractive cacti & gifted them to my mom. Surely, he could not ruin these minimal-effort desert plants – they just need dry air & sunshine. Well, he did. Apparently, my mom was cleaning one afternoon & moved the plants away from their warm & dry shelf… Unluckyly, he set them directly next to an air vent & forgot all about them, while the outdoor air temperature steadily increased. The plants sat next to the ice freezing air vent, being blasted with a/c for more than 2 afternoons while the sizzling & humid outdoor air triggered the AC over & over again. When I came over to visit, I saw the plants looking miserable next to the air vent, & pulled their cold freezing pots away from the flowing air conditioned air. When I asked my mom why he would set the cacti right next to his AC outlet, he feigned innocence. Suddenly, it was his darn a/c’s fault & he needed to get an Heating & A/C update to have plants. There was now a $4,000 air quality appliance excuse for why he couldn’t even keep cacti alive.
