Two birds; one HVAC appointment – ants

I had no idea that the two situations were connected until I called out a residential Heating and Cooling worker to inspect my failing HVAC system

I can very clearly remember moving into this house and considering it to be a fresh new start. I was so excited at the prospect of leaving all of my old baggage behind at the old house and starting a new life in this exciting space. At the time, everything about it seemed so fresh and so clean. Everything down to the HVAC system was absolutely perfect for my lifestyle. Every day when I woke up I was grateful for the amazing scenery and the high-quality indoor air. I felt especially lucky that I had obtained a house with a nearly brand-new HVAC system, so I wouldn’t have to worry about the forced air furnace or central cooling system for several years. It was nice to take a load off my mind and trust that my indoor air quality would stay high for many years to come. Then, I started having problems. First, it was the indoor air quality and then it was the ants. Everything started when I noticed my indoor air temperature was not staying in line with the thermostat settings. Each month, my energy bills seemed like they were climbing ever so slightly higher. I couldn’t count on the central heating or cooling system to completely control my indoor air quality, and I was beginning to get frustrated. When little soldier ants started marching around my kitchen, I was even less excited about the house situation. I had no idea that the two situations were connected until I called out a residential Heating and Cooling worker to inspect my failing HVAC system. Within 10 seconds of inspecting my air ducts, he poked his head down the stairs and asked if I was aware that there was a massive anthill all throughout my air ducts. Between the exterminator and the HVAC technician, my home finally returned to a pleasurable homeostasis.
