Last winter time was especially long, cold & snowy.

My buddy and I set records for low hot & cold temperatures, wind chill & snow accumulation. The temperature reMained below cold for more than six months. My buddy and I endured a week of downside digits & the temperature dropped all the way down to downside twenty-six degrees. The furnace ran just about non stop & struggled to keep up. I raised the temperature control setting various times & distraught about malfunction & the potential of cold water pipes. My energy bills were big. Toward the end of the winter, I needed to climb up a ladder to replace a lightbulb in a ceiling fixture. The difference in temperature from floor to ceiling was significant. I went from feeling a bit chilly to covered in sweat. The heat flowing from the supply vents was actually rising straight up & getting trapped near the ceiling. The furnace was struggling to match the setting on a temperature control because the majority of heat was getting wasted. I decided to install ceiling fans. I discovered that ceiling fans are available in a big selection of sizes, styles & price ranges. There are models that include LED lighting, remote controls & especially smooth & quiet operation. My hubby & I were able to complete the installation as a DIY project. In the winter, the fans help to redistribute the boiling air & improve comfort. There is less demand on the heater. In the summer, my associate and I reverse the rotation of the fan blades to create a cooling effect.
