I’ve recently realized the importance of professional air duct cleaning! My family has lived in our household for nearly fifteen years, however during that time, we’ve done a lot of remodeling.
We’ve torn down walls & ceilings, replaced windows, ripped up carpets & refinished the hardwood floors… All of these projects created a good deal of dust & debris… Plus, my family consists of five people & my associate and I have a cat.
We generate a significant amount of dust, dander & other particles. This debris gets pulled into the duct system right along with the air & gradually builds up. The accumulation restricts airflow, forcing the furnace & air conditioner to struggle. The system needs to run longer, uses more energy & experiences greater wear & tear. Along with higher energy bills, there is an increased risk of machine malfunction. The lifespan of the heating/cooling machine is shortened. There is also the concern that the contaminants concealed inside the air duct will become airborne & get spread throughout the house. When I had my air duct cleaned, the worker found decomposing rodents, bugs & mold growth. The air my family breathes could have particularly been polluted with harmful toxins, but it is such a relief to know the air duct is clean. I can be sure that the maximum amount of air is reaching the rooms of the house. I’ve noticed an improvement in the cleanliness, comfort & odor of my home. The furnace & air conditioner cost far less to operate & don’t run as often. I plan to have the air duct inspected & diagnosed every year.
