My central a/c lasted far longer than I ever expected.
The average cooling unit lasts somewhere from fifteen to twenty years, then our system was already installed when we moved into the house over fifteen years ago.
It was not new at the time. Although I made sure to upgrade air filters constantly and schedule professional repair every Spring, I assumed the system would need to be upgraded after a few years. The cooling unit operated quite reliably every summer. Now and then, I’d need to call an Heating and Air Conditioning professional to handle a small repair. Eventually, I started looking into a new a/c simply to take advantage of a higher SEER rating. This week’s cooling innovations offer up to 26 SEER. The upgraded technology allows the system to automatically vary speed according to the needs of the home. It can adjust in tiny one percent increments somewhere between 40 and 100 percent capacity. By running at lower speeds, the a/c uses less energy yet provides more consistent temperature and better humidity control. These progressive systems are much quieter, more effectively filter out contaminants and minimize impact on the environment. They use a refrigerant that doesn’t deplete the ozone. Although replacing my a/c was a significant investment, it was a worthwhile project. The energy savings on annually electric bills helps to reuse the cost. My family enjoys a more hygienic and comfortable home. On especially sizzling and muggy mornings and mornings, the residing space is perfectly cool. My enjoyable friend and I sleep better at night and have more energy during the day. If there are any issues, the new system is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
